Dana Loesch Rocks the Tucson Tea Party
Cross posted at ttpdaily.com
Dana walked out to Def Leppard's "Let's Get Rocked" and the temperature was turned up from there. Pop some corn, hit play. Dana skewer's the old stream media for being lying liars after the Tucson shooting. They were more than willing to blame talk radio, Sarah Palin and the Tea Party before any facts were in.
Dana also encouraged the Tucson crowd reminding us that we are not alone. The St. Louis Tea Party and Tea Party's across America stand with us.
Thank you Dana for being willing to go into the lion's den with your conservatism and debate skills. You are welcome back to Tucson anytime!

Tucson’s Mexican-American Studies Problem
Specifically, Tucson Unified School District's Mexican-American Studies Problem as assisted by the University of Arizona's Mexican-American Studies Program.
I can hear the cries of "racist" already. To which I will counter, "Hey, some of my best friends are Mexican-American's."
America saw the results of teaching a racist curriculum to an impressionable group of kids and many may be wondering, "what is going on down there?" I spend nearly 8 minutes trying to answer that question, and honestly, it's not nearly enough time. Many thanx to the fine folks with Tucsonans United for Sound Districts (TU4SD.com) for all of the information. Loretta Hunnicutt, her husband John and long-time educator Richard Kronberg have decided to stand for what is right even though they are paying a high personal price.
Watch the video and please excuse my voice. I've been coughing all week and it's fading. Still, I hope the story gives you a better idea of what La Raza Studies is all about at TUSD.
The next meeting is tomorrow, Tuesday, May 3, 2011. The School Board is determined to have a vote and is expected to return Mexican-American Studies to elective only status. Currently, students can take La Raza Studies (as it was formally known as) as a core History credit. Meanwhile, students are on record saying they will do everything they can to prevent a vote. Should be an interesting meeting. I hope the La Raza folk aren't planning anything drastic.
As for the University of Arizona Professor that is apparently very much involved in the alleged indoctrination of students. There is a much larger story there. From what I know at this time, it sounds like Professor Roberto Rodriguez, professor of Mexican-American Studies at the University of Arizona, is hoping to export Tucson's version of Mexican-American Studies to the rest of the country. Hopefully, if time allows, I can do a story of how Social Justice is being taught overtly and covertly to America's future teachers and administrators at the U of A and across the country.
The light is the best disinfectant. Spray this post around!
Ward Churchill Spotted at TUSD Board Uprising
Students who chained themselves to chairs in order to stop the Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) Board from taking action against "Mexican-American Studies" the other night may have had some rather infamous company.
Remember Ward Churchill? The Former Ethnic Studies Professor and activist that was fired from the University of Colorado? The one who pretended to be an American Indian? The one who called 9-11 victims "Little Eichmann's"? Yeah, that Ward Churchill. He was apparently in Tucson supporting the students who took over a TUSD Board Meeting.
Here is a rather long and poorly shot video of what took place on Tuesday. Pay attention to the guy leaning on the podium in the middle of the room. (I know it's hard with the excessive zooming and panning). Churchill can be seen chanting along at 1:57, 2:35, 3:30ish and 5:39. I have posted freezes below the video.

So why was he there? Did someone bring him in? He certainly appeared to be having a good time. Mysteries for now.
If you've forgotten some of the controversies that led to Ward Churchill's firing from the University of Colorado, here is an instructive refresher link:

UPDATE: Daily KOS article from April 27th also mentions Ward's presence at the meeting.
Clarification and UPDATE: Some people think I shot the video. It was shot by someone sympathetic to the students and also a true amateur. Also, Churchill's presence blows apart the claims by the students communist handlers that the students were working mostly on their own.
Do you KNOW Him?
Singing in the Rain
It was wonderful! Rain all the way on my trip to Phoenix. Here's some dashcam of my trip as I approached Picacho Peak. Celine Dion, "Water from the Moon" on the iPod. How appropriate.

How Cold is it?
COLD
New record low of 18 this morning which is also tied for the second coldest ever for a February Tucson morning. There's a chance we tied the all-time record February low of 17. We won't find out for sure for a few hours. If we didn't reach it, no worries. We have an even better chance tomorrow morning!
This could be the coldest February chill in Tucson's history. I go through all of that plus take a look at the cold, snow and freezing rain forecast for Texas in this morning's "Coffee and a Forecast"

Here is a comprehensive look at the cold start originally posted on my TucsonWeather.us site.
Arizona Governor Brewer’s State of the State Address Two Days after the Tucson Shooting
The Governor put aside her planned remarks and delivered a heartfelt message honoring heroes from Saturday. While we are in pain from the senseless violence from this past weekend we will not lose sight of what makes our country and our state great. Thank You Governor. May God be with you and all of us.
So, you want to be in TV News
Hilarious video a couple of my friends posted on Facebook. The lure of bright lights and adoring fans draw so many to the business, but it’s in the trenches of busted equipment, long hours, working every holiday, annoying consultants and small towns that separate those that are truly talented, and driven (and few that are clueless but strikingly beautiful) from the those that thought it was gonna be all fun and flowers.
After you hang in for awhile and make it to a big market (or stay in a smaller one) then you can make a decent living and have folks stop you in the store asking you when it’s going to rain.
Hahaha! I remember getting so embarrassed when my gear would break down while interviewing a Congressman. Or working several Christmas’ in a row. I was poor, but I had a dream and I worked through it. I finally had a house and a nice contract and THEN I left. What is wrong with me?
Don’t answer that!
Sunset Time Lapse
I saw the high clouds late yesterday afternoon and knew it was going to be another one of those amazing Tucson Sunsets (patent pending) that we Tucsonans love so much. So I grabbed my tripod, camera and FlipUltra HD and headed for Pima Canyon. I hiked about a half mile up the trail, ducked behind some cacti and ocotillo, set up my tripod and started rolling. Meanwhile, I hiked around with my “regular” camera and got a few dozen shots. The best ones are here.
I sat on a rock drinking in God’s handiwork while the Flip did all the work. I love watching Him paint and repaint and repaint the sky. As it got darker and darker the Moon seemed to get brighter behind me. I followed my Moon shadow back to my car and coasted (almost) down the hill to edit the video.
Here it is. 45 minutes of sunset condensed into 3 minutes-ish with Selah’s, “Oh Draw Me Lord.”
Election Eve Reminiscing
This post is going to be more about my own personal journey this election cycle. My life has changed a lot in the last year and a quarter.
I guess it started with the decision to leave Family Life Radio. I was the News Director for a national radio network and living comfortably. It was a good job, but there was a stirring in my heart for almost a year before I left. After much prayer, and then a job change, I felt the timing was right to start my own business. I jumped off a cliff into the world of web design and online video. AgapeMedia.net, LLC was born.
As a news guy for 20 years, I was very interested in current events and politics. Even before I broke into news really. I remember being intensely interested when Nixon resign, watching that as a kid with my Dad.
As a weather anchor for many years and a fan of science it isn’t hard for me to understand the way I reacted in August of 2009. My Congresswoman voted for Cap & Trade! Are you kidding me?! That in no way represented me. In no way! (did I mention that) I had to do something! I didn’t have to wait long.
About that time the Democratic Committee came out with an ad complaining about the “angry mobs” that were protesting the President’s agenda. Bitter about the election the ad said. American’s for Prosperity had a rally planned in front of Gabrielle Giffords office and I decided to do a story. I took my FlipUltra HD down to the rally and I talked to this “angry mob” to expose them for who they were (are).
Caleb Howe had created a hastag on Twitter, #iamthemob. That’s what I called the video. That video was picked up by HotAir, Red State, Breitbart.tv and many many others. theBCast interviewed me on their show! It literally changed my life. The Tucson Tea Party called and wanted me to do videos. And I did. “Signs of the Times” and “Not a Blue Dog” and one of my favorites, “Tucson Town Hall and Fun and Game Show.” I also got involved in the Jesse Kelly campaign early on, doing a video when he took over for a town hall when Gabby Giffords canceled.
I was (and am) determined to send our self proclaimed Blue Dog Democrat packing. After voting for Stimulus, Cap & Trade and Obamacare, she ain’t no Blue Dog!
In the last year I have had the privilege to get to know, and work with, candidates and public servants on all levels of local and state government and their wonderful staff and volunteers. I am now an elected Precinct Committeeman and I have a new circle of wonderful Conservative friends.
What the future holds, I can’t say. But I do know that on this election eve; I am praying that our passion and hard work result in Conservatives sweeping into office in Congress and in the State Senate and House. This country is awake and I am so happy to be working along side my Conservative friends to bring about the change that will get people working again.
These Rights We Hold to be Self Evident (funny how they aren’t evident at all to some). We are endowed by our creator with unalienable rights! Government need only be big enough to protect those God-given rights. Then we are free! Free to live, enjoy liberty and pursue happiness. I pray that God grant us victory for He has truly blessed America. believe that if we return to Him and His values that He isn’t done with us yet! Blessed to be a blessing to the rest of the world.
