Bear Canyon Picnic – 2006

It was the afternoon of November 11, 2006. It was the 2nd Annual FLR Gathering at Bear Canyon, or something like that. We picnicked, played horseshoes, hiked, ate, laughed, cried (well, not really) and basically a good time was had by all.

Bear Canyon is located part way up Mt. Lemmon. Maybe 8 miles up the windy road (the road is WAY fun to drive with a stick shift!). The canyon is somewhere between 5,000 and 6,000 feet, so there is a pine forest, and it’s nice and cool compared to the desert floor below in Tucson.
