Bear Canyon Picnic – 2007
It was the afternoon of September 15, 2007. It was another Annual FLR Gathering at Bear Canyon. This year we had some new faces, and some older ones (watch it). We picnicked, hiked, ate, and I almost got us busted for an illegal fire!
OK, let me explain. When I stopped near the bottom of the hill to purchase my pass, I asked about having a campfire. The guy asked where I was going and said, “no problem.” Well, it turned out to be not that big a deal. The U.S. Forest Service Technician (that’s what he said) wasn’t upset. He said that when I asked, sometimes they forget to specify that fires should be in the grill (as in where we bar-b-qued!). He put it out. No one got arrested. Besides, it was a low fire danger. Too bad, it was good fire before it got dowsed!
I apologize for not getting pictures of everybody. My batteries ran out right away, and then I was too busy eating.
