Beauty that Never Ends!
God never gets tired of painting these Sunsets night after night in Arizona and around the world. One night I was enjoying a particularly nice sunset and I was watching the subtle changes with the changing light and the slowly shifting clouds. Then I had a realization. There are sunrise and sunsets going on continually. Traveling around the globe at the speed of it’s rotation. The sunset I was enjoying was moving west and the sunrise happening half way around the world was making steady progress my way, waking up a world as it went.
What constantly changing beauty were others enjoying along the long line where day fades to night? What treats were in store for me when God’s handiwork returns to me part of the world?
God never sleeps. His creation speaks of His beauty. His AWESOME power. His love.
Snapshot
I like taking pictures. Sometimes I even think I’m good at it. It’s not that I am bad. Not at all. I have taken some shots that I am proud of. Still, I’m missing something that keeps me from getting to a certain level of greatness. The thing that keeps getting in my way? Laziness.
Now I’m not lazy all the time. However, I feel like I could do so much more with just a bit more effort. Take tonight’s sunset, for example:

VERY beautiful. Taken right off of my third story balcony. A nice picture. Well framed. Not too crooked. What’s missing? I really need some suaguros in the foreground. Maybe some bushes or something. Something that makes a beautiful sunset picture into a beautiful picture of the sunset!
It takes a bit of planning. Driving around and finding spots that will be great and then going there when the sunset is on! Around here, that’s more evenings than it’s not!
This laziness thing affects other parts of my life too. As busy as I am, I somehow manage to be an underachiever. Recognizing you have a problem is the first step! If only I could remember the second :-)
Tucson Sunsets
They are the best in the world! OK, I haven’t been everywhere in the world. However, they are the best of anywhere I’ve lived! That’s saying something because West Texas is certainly known for it’s wonderful sunsets. As great as they are, I’d have to say that Tucson has ‘em beat (not like it’s a competition!). Here’s a shot from last night:

Pretty awesome! I’ve seen even better, but this one I happened to capture on my digital camera. I barely made it too!
I had to work late last night. I left right at 6:00. Sunset is about 6:13. As I was driving home, I noticed that there were some high clouds in the western sky and I certainly knew what that meant! I had less that 15 minutes to get home, change, grab my camera and drive to a spot to take some pictures!
I had to hustle, but I just made it. I drove up W. Magee to near the Pima Canyon Trailhead. The sunset was spectacular! I got a few shots, came home to the apartment to choose the best two or three, resized ‘em, and uploaded ‘em to my web site.
