Tucson’s Mexican-American Studies Problem

Specifically, Tucson Unified School District’s Mexican-American Studies Problem as assisted by the University of Arizona’s Mexican-American Studies Program.

I can hear the cries of “racist” already.  To which I will counter, “Hey, some of my best friends are Mexican-American’s.”

America saw the results of teaching a racist curriculum to an impressionable group of kids and many may be wondering, “what is going on down there?”  I spend nearly 8 minutes trying to answer that question, and honestly, it’s not nearly enough time.  Many thanx to the fine folks with Tucsonans United for Sound Districts (TU4SD.com) for all of the information.  Loretta Hunnicutt, her husband John and long-time educator Richard Kronberg have decided to stand for what is right even though they are paying a high personal price.

Watch the video and please excuse my voice.  I’ve been coughing all week and it’s fading.  Still, I hope the story gives you a better idea of what La Raza Studies is all about at TUSD.

The next meeting is tomorrow, Tuesday, May 3, 2011.  The School Board is determined to have a vote and is expected to return Mexican-American Studies to elective only status.  Currently, students can take La Raza Studies (as it was formally known as) as a core History credit.  Meanwhile, students are on record saying they will do everything they can to prevent a vote.  Should be an interesting meeting.  I hope the La Raza folk aren’t planning anything drastic.

As for the University of Arizona Professor that is apparently very much involved in the alleged indoctrination of students.  There is a much larger story there.  From what I know at this time, it sounds like Professor Roberto Rodriguez, professor of Mexican-American Studies at the University of Arizona, is hoping to export Tucson’s version of Mexican-American Studies to the rest of the country.  Hopefully, if time allows, I can do a story of how Social Justice is being taught overtly and covertly to America’s future teachers and administrators at the U of A and across the country.

The light is the best disinfectant.  Spray this post around!

Mike, I’m writing an article about this for an education journal. I could really use the quote you refer to here: “From what I know at this time, it sounds like Professor Roberto Rodriguez, professor of Mexican-American Studies at the University of Arizona, is hoping to export Tucson’s version of Mexican-American Studies to the rest of the country.” Can you steer me in the right direction? Many thanks.

Thanx for the question. Check the end of this article: http://censored-news.blogspot.com/2011/03/roberto-rodriguez-arizona-in-violation.html

“Conversely, what should be exported is MAS’s proven curriculum. Expanding and adopting such an ethnic studies model in communities nationwide….”

There may be other sources, but this was the first one I found with a quick Google search.

The problem with Mexican-American studies is that Mexicans that write this type of foreign history usually use
revised Mexican-American history. Therefore this study isn’t worth the paper it is written on!
    For instance:
PBS version of The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo written by author by Richard Griswold del Castillo:

“Since 1848 Native Americans and Mexican Americans have struggled to achieve political and social equality within the United States, often citing the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo as a document that promised civil and property rights. Although the treaty promised U.S. citizenship to former Mexican citizens, the Native Americans in the ceded territories, who in fact were Mexican citizens, were not given full U.S. citizenship until the 1930s.”

    Truth is:
The Mexican government in order to wipe out Apaches Indians wrote into law: PROJECT FOR WAR offering large bounties in silver
for Apache scalps (including women and children) in order to annihilate these Native Americans!

Of course this is not what is written by a Mexican American is it? Nor is the fact that Geronimo wrote in his biography that Apaches were taken in chains by Mexicans to Mexican hacienda’s as slaves!
Mexicans seem to love to believe that they were Blood Brothers with Native Americans and that is a LIE!

Now does anyone really believe that Native Americans were MEXICAN INDIANS?

    Give me a break!

( I have the books and information to prove this part Native American history . You can look up Geronimo’s bio on line).

LInda Bentley is a brilliant investigative reporter and someone I like to call a friend. She exposed all of this almost ten years ago with the masterpiece “Paving the way to Aztlán with propaganda, politics, racism”. What better reward for her work than to see the issue rising to the surface, even if it took almost a decade. People refuse to believe what is layed right out in front of them, or something would have been done much earlier.

Another idiot with an American birth certificate here to further Mexico’s agenda with the help of our Corporate money-loving traitors!
Navarro loves to claims that Mexicans were the only people that can claim being in the southwest for generations or similar baloney.
For some reason Navarro is hit with complete amnesia about the Spanish residing in this territory for a few centuries!
Navarro enjoys incorporating Mexico’s history in the U.S. with Spain’s centuries involvement in what is now U.S. territory. This furthers his agenda for relaxing immigration laws.

Mexicans love to claim that they can prove they have great influence in the U.S. as “Look at all the Spanish words in the southwest”.

Well with teachers like Navarro, Spain has been wiped out as ever being any influence in the American southwest!
I don’t know how Navarro explains THE SPANISH MISSIONS? Oh yeah! I guess he can claim the Mexicans constructed them!

(The Mexican invaders nearly destroyed the historical Spanish Missions before the U.S. drove the Mexicans off) Little tidbit I read regarding Spanish missions.

This is just another example of revised history from another Mexican American study!

According to this person, had Cinco De Mayo had not occurred The United States might not
    have SURVIVED!

(Cinco de Mayo happened because the French demanded payment of a loan and 4,000 Mexicans sent them packing. Imagine a yearly celebration of reneging on a debt?)
    —————————————————————————————————————————————————-

    http://www.vivacincodemayo.org/history.htm

“It might be a historical stretch to credit the survival of the United States to those brave 4,000 Mexicans (Cinco De Mayo) who faced an army twice as large in 1862. But who knows?

In gratitude, thousands of Mexicans crossed the border after Pearl Harbor to join the U.S. Armed Forces. As recently as the Persian Gulf War, Mexicans flooded American consulates with phone calls, trying to join up and fight another war for America.

Mexicans, you see, never forget who their friends are, and neither do Americans. That’s why Cinco de Mayo is such a party — A party that celebrates freedom and liberty. There are two ideals which Mexicans and Americans have fought shoulder to shoulder to protect, ever since the 5th of May, 1862. VIVA! el CINCO DE MAYO!!”

If I am understanding this -the program is to cause a civil war here? The total eradication of whites?basically political science at work to cause a great deal of death on both sides .While the instigator sits back and laughs ?Culling off a few millions of people with more coming .Indeed .

Myself ,I have ,at least 3 ethnic components .If the truth be known ,so do most of the people who have been here for the last 400 years.Do not forget it was the Spanish who did quite a bit of murdering ,follwed by more Europeans .And so on and so forth.

The Cartels ,are they the models of Mexicans now ?Or what will be?Spanish and the tribes that were here when the Spanish arrived .History need be re-written .Archeology is uncovering some very bad news for the “indigenous ” peoples .Evidence of Caucasian people far older than any found to date in the Americas. So ,what happened to them when they were invaded?

But ,this is not the point .The point is that more abominations are coming ,this time ,it is the war of the world .Just anything to stir hatred and cause people to kill each other .

I know a lot of Hispanic people who are here legally and are very decent people .But ,they call me a racist .I am not .But ,it is not ok to push around American citizens .I do not think people are mature enough to accept the truth.I have thought for a very ,very long time .
I am not a warrior in the sense of fighting another .I might die too easily ?But ,my spirit will not die .Evidence of some very unsettling discoveries have been and will be coming .
It is never right murder innocents and steal what is not yours .They will only be killing native Americans .There is nothing to do about the past. Not many living now had anything to d owith it .There are very few ,I think .
    God help us all .Ana
